Why choose the University of Alexandria?

U of A was founded with the homeschool family in mind. Our motto of “On your time, At your pace” was kept in the forefront for the each of the members of the Administration Team when the curriculum and program were established.

Homeschooled children understand they do not necessarily function in the grade level of their age-equivalency in every subject. At the University of Alexandria, students will be able to learn at their achievement level. So, if a student struggles at a certain subject, he or she can participate in lessons below their enrolled grade level in that subject. If a student excels in a subject, he or she can participate in lessons above their enrolled grade level. All students will be responsible to take the MSTEP standardized test at the end of the year in their enrolled grade level in every subject. However, by participating in lessons at the student’s ability level, they will at least learn something, instead of being allowed to continue to struggle and eventually check out, as most frustrated learners tend to do in the rigidity of a typical schooling experience.
